FIRST STEPS Is Most-Watched Trailer for Any Non-Sequel Marvel Film — GeekTyrant Find help us

Marvel Studios has a major hit brewing with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, as its first trailer racked up 202 million views in just 24 hours.

The trailer dropped on Tuesday, and the teaser quickly became the most-watched first trailer for any non-sequel Marvel film.

While it trails behind Deadpool & Wolverine (365M) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (355M) in day-one views, Fantastic Four: First Steps holds the top spot for any Marvel Studios debut installment.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s trailer holds the record as the most-watched of all time, with the film itself debuting to $211.4 million domestically.

The 202M figure includes views from TikTok, a platform that some studios omit from their analytics due to its ability to inflate numbers. However, YouTube remains the gold standard for gauging a movie’s momentum, and Fantastic Four: First Steps is dominating there—it’s currently the No. 1 trending video and broke records for the most live viewers ever on a Marvel YouTube livestream.

Beyond YouTube, the teaser rode the social media wave. X saw multiple top ten organic trends related to the film, including “Fantastic Four,” “Galactus,” and the names of both the cast and the four core characters.

In terms of overall social engagement, the trailer generated nearly half a million mentions, outperforming all recent Marvel releases except for Deadpool & Wolverine, which had the advantage of a Super Bowl drop.

Marvel Studios seems to have reignited audience excitement. The question now is whether this momentum will carry through to the film’s release, but for now, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is making a big first impression.
