Director Ari Aster is currently working on his next movie Eddington, and A24 is looking to release the film this summer.
This is the fourth film from Aster, who previously helmed Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid, and it stars Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone.
The news comes from Variety, who provides us with some new plot details for the film which had previously been described by A24 as “Ari Aster’s contemporary western.”
We’ve now learned, “The film is now in post-production and is believed to revolve around a couple stranded in a small New Mexico town.
“Though they are initially welcomed, the town takes a sinister turn by nightfall. Joaquin Phoenix portrays the town’s sheriff with ambitious dreams.”
The rest of the cast includes Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Austin Butler, Deirdre O’Connell, Clifton Collins Jr. and Micheal Ward.
