Azealia Banks has taken to social media to address J.K. Rowling’s controversial anti-transgender comments. The rapper and activist criticized the author’s stance on gender and femininity, urging her to reconsider her views. Banks’ recent X(formerly Twitter) posts have sparked significant attention online as many fans praised her for her support.

Here’s what the “New Bottega” singer said about the popular British author.

What did Azealia Banks say about J.K. Rowling?

Azealia Banks has called out J.K. Rowling for her ongoing anti-transgender comments, taking to social media to challenge the latter’s views on gender and femininity. She argued that many women, particularly those who undergo body modifications like Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), are insecure about their own femininity and feel threatened by trans women.

However, the rapper clarified that she does not view trans women as a threat. Banks wrote on X(formerly Twitter), “All of the insane anti-trans paranoid people like @jk_rowling feel their femininity is threatened for whatever reason and try to mask that insecurity with “science” like anyone is stupid and doesn’t already know these things.”

Banks further urged the Harry Potter author to focus on more significant global issues, such as child abuse, instead of obsessing over adults’ personal choices. The “Liquorice” hitmaker, who has a transgender brother, shared her own experiences of witnessing the emotional and physical toll that societal rejection and abuse can have on transgender individuals.

Azealia Banks added in another post on X, “One would assume that you of all people who have written books about magic and esoteric things would be able to comprehend and understand how states of consciousness vary in a human being.”

In her direct message to J.K. Rowling, Banks expressed that despite their differences, she still respected the author but urged her to reconsider her views. Additionally, she noted that as a wealthy and accomplished figure, Rowling should not be concerned with the personal lives or sexual choices of others.

Banks’ posts come in response to Rowling’s recent support of US President Donald Trump’s “No Men in Women’s Sports” order. Furthermore, the author openly expressed her opposition to gender ideology in a post on X.
