‘Mononoke Movie: Dai Ni Shou – Hinezumi’ Unveils More Cast, Second Trailer Find help us

The official website of the Mononoke anime movie project revealed five additional cast, the main visual (pictured), and a second trailer for the second movie, subtitled Dai ni Shou – Hinezumi (Chapter II – Fire Rat), on Thursday. The movie will premiere in Japanese theaters on March 14.

Cast

Sayo: Yukana (Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch)

Katsunuma: Naomi Kusumi (Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen)

Fujimaki: Ryo Horikawa (Dragon Ball Z)

Suikouin: Yoshiko Sakakibara (Psycho-Pass)

Sachiko: Atsumi Tanezaki (Sousou no Frieren)

AiNA THE END (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) returns from the first movie to perform the theme song “Hana Musou” which is previewed in the trailer below.

Kenji Nakamura, director of the original anime, is now serving as the chief director. Kiyotaka Suzuki (Psycho-Pass 2), assistant director of the first movie, is now directing the second movie at EOTA. Yuuichi Takahashi (Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song) and Taku Iwasaki (Bungou Stray Dogs) are returning as the character designer and music composer, respectively.

The first movie opened in theaters in Japan on July 26. The stage greeting event commemorating the opening of the movie confirmed the production of a second movie. The movie project will have three parts in total.

Mononoke, a spin-off of the 2006 anthology Ayakashi: Japanese Classic Horror, aired in 12 episodes on Fuji TV’s noitaminA programming block in Summer 2007.
