Jared Padalecki to Lead Texas Medical Show for CBS Find help us

Supernatural vet Jared Padalecki has officially found his next project with Walker showrunner Anna Fricke in the form of an untitled Texas medical show for CBS. This comes after over six months since the western drama reboot had wrapped up its four-season run.

What character will Jared Padalecki play in the Texas medical show?

Jared Padalecki has signed on for the leading role in CBS’s upcoming medical drama, which will take place in a rural hospital. After playing a legendary Texas ranger in The CW’s Walker, Padalecki will now be portraying the role of a “headstrong, devoted country doctor, who practices his unique style of improvisational medicine alongside his new protégé, a young doctor running from her past, as they operate a mobile clinic and heal the bodies and souls of their underserved community in the medical desert of rural Texas.”

The project is executive produced by Fricke, Padalecki, Laura Terry, and Dan Spilo. It is part of Fricke’s overall deal and Padalecki’s first-look deal with CBS Studios. This marks the creative duo’s latest collaboration for CBS. Besides the untitled medical drama, they are also currently working together on a Fire Country spin-off titled Fire Country: Surfside. At the moment, the spin-off still hasn’t received an official series order.

Padalecki is best known for his iconic role as Sam Winchester in the long-running Supernatural series, which ran on-air for fifteen seasons from 2005-2019. His most recent appearance was on the latest season of Fire Country, in which he played the role of Camden Casey for three episodes.
